I can’t express how much I LOVE books!! I LOVE to read! It’s actually one of my favorite hobbies and my “whoosah” time when the world and life gets to be a bit much! And it normally gets to be a bit much! So I read quite often! I’d love for you to join my book club and let’s talk all things books! I read various books, not just on relationships, and religion, but self-help/motivational, spiritual, fiction novels, etc.
It’s nothing like having a great book to read while lying on the beach! I was headed to Aruba for my birthday and wanted a great book to take along! A friend recommended She That Findeth and I couldn’t put it down! As a single woman, I immediately related to the main character, Shenita, who is in her 30s, and having a difficult time, to say the least, in her dating life. Although she trust God, she decides to take matters in to her own hands, and let’s just say, God takes her through a journey. She has three friends who all have their own personal situations going on in life, but their friendship and love for God allows them to support one another as they go through. Kim Brooks nails the single life and tells a story that makes you laugh, cry, and say “Amen.”
Let me just say I was a huge fan of Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. So in essence, I was/am a huge fan of Shonda Rhimes. I’d heard so many great things about this book and recently was entering a phase in my life where I needed to say “Yes.” So I was drawn to this book. And another book I just couldn’t put down. Shonda Rhimes is authentically funny, and real. She’s honest and I screamed “yes!” almost every time I turned the page because she was speaking truth. Her story will speak to any person who has ever had a fear or multiple fears. Her story encourages and empowers you to make the decision to face those fears and watch your life be transformed in the process. This book is a must read if you are ready to enter the next phase in your life and live your best life yet!
March/April Pick!As I’m on this journey of learning more about myself, this was a great book to read! Van Moody seeks to empower and encourage others to be their authentic self, learning to embrace your identity through Christ. Moody gives great analogies and parallels biblical characters and well known historical figures to relate the struggles of all people in the search for greatness and success. He pulls on the need to forgive others and perform regular self evaluations. Each chapter is ended with points to remember and questions to ponder upon. A great book to add to the library and to life!
